Eggless White Chocolate Saffron Torte

Welcome to Nitu Chugani who contributed the Egg-less White Chocolate Saffron Torte recipe. It looks scrumptious. Nitu describes herself as a simple housewife who cooked for her family on a daily basis, and friends, when entertaining. Since childhood she has always been fond of good.

Here is the recipe for Nitu's Egg-less White Chocolate Saffron Torte

INGREDIENTS

For the Eggless Crepes

  1. 6 tablespoons white flour
  2. pinch of NITU DIDIS PURE SPANISH SAFFRON
  3. pinch of baking powder
  4. 3 tablespoons of sugar
  5. 3 tablespoons of butter
  6. Milk as needed to make a thin batter,(Nitu used skimmed milk)

METHOD

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together with an electric beater
  2. Add milk and make into a thin batter. Keep aside for an hour
  3. Heat an iron non stick pan/gridle till hot, add a tiny piece of butter
  4. Pour the batter with a ladle & with the back of the spoon even it out to a thin round
  5. Cook then flip & cook the other side
  6. Make all the pancakes this way

INGREDIENTS (cont.)

White Chocolate Saffron Custard

  1. 500ml plus (4 tablespoons skimmed milk to be mixed with custard)
  2. 150 grams of white chocolate (or more depends on your taste)
  3. Pinch of pure Spanish Saffron
  4. 2 tablespoons custard powder

METHOD

  1. Heat 500ml milk in a pan
  2. Add saffron & white chocolate, stir to melt
  3. Mix 4 tablespoons milk with the custard powder. Pour into the hot milk. Cook till thick
  4. Taste. If your prefer it sweeter add more white chocolate
  5. DO NOT ADD SUGAR, let it cook till thick. Allow it to cool

Making The Torte

  1. Place one crepe on a plate, then spoon cooled custard on top
  2. Cover with another crepe, repeat till all the crepes & custard are used
  3. Decorate with nuts of your choice. Refrigerate overnight for the flavors to blend
  4. EAT AND ENJOY THIS AMAZING DESSERT!!!!!!
